Characteristics

Hernia repair is one of the most common surgical procedures, abdominal wall hernias are repaired by covering the area where the opening or weakness is with a prosthesis (mesh), which is fixed to the muscle tissue. Comfort and Confidence The synthetic surgical mesh, partially absorbable, is a mesh made in equal parts of nonabsorbable Polypropylene monofilament and Poly-Glycolide-co-Epsilon-caprolactone (PGC25), this mesh is designed to withstand the physiological stresses to which it is subjected. abdominal wall.

The Atramat PropyMesh Flex surgical mesh is made up of parts stained for identification. The gradual loss of tensile strength and finally the partial absorption of Atramat PropyMesh Flex occurs through a hydrolysis process, where the PGC25 polymer is absorbed and metabolized by the body.

The absorption of PGC25 is completed approximately between 90-110 days, leaving only the Polypropylene.
